About Crystal

Crystal grew up on a farm on the East Coast and always enjoyed cooking and baking with her mother and sisters throughout her childhood. She attended Colgate University in upstate New York to study Liberal Arts and minored in Studio Art where she focused on her passions of sculpture and painting. After graduation, she spent 12 years working in finance in New York City and Los Angeles before moving back east to Connecticut in 2013. Her love of cooking and baking flourished and soon she began making celebration cakes for family and friends. Word of mouth spread quickly and Confections by Crystal was born.  

Today Crystal bakes out of her home in Southport, CT as a licensed Cottage Food Operator. Her business continues to grow and evolve as she masters new techniques and adapts current industry trends to create unique cakes for her clients. When not busy decorating cakes and teaching classes, Crystal can usually be found on the tennis or paddle courts with her husband and spending time with her two children.
